WINTER TRIP 2025 TO PRAGUE
During the winter of 2025, on January 24th, the participants started their journey to the lovely city of Prague. After an uneventful but long train ride, we explored the city on a student-led city tour, which brought us along many of Prague’s highlights. In the following days, everyone participated in various activities, such as a visit to the War Museum, laser gaming, and the Custodia Olympics. Besides these social and cultural events, we had various formal events such as a visit to the Dutch Embassy, the headquarters of the European Union Agency for the Space Programme, and the United Nations Information Centre. During these formal events, we learned a lot about the work these organisations partake in and the possible security implications. While Prague brought us much joy, we also went on a day trip to explore the city of Karlovy Vary, where many students enjoyed the beautiful architecture or a relaxing day in one of the many spas. Overall, the week-long trip was a great success, with plenty of memories to look back to!
SUMMER TRIP 2024 TO SPAIN
During the summer trip of 2024, the travel comittee took us to Comarruga, Spain, for a well-deserved week of fun and relaxation after a busy semester. During our stay, we explored the historic city of Tarragona on a lively city tour along the Mediterranean coast. A highlight of the week was a day trip to Barcelona, where we visited Fusion for Energy for an insightful presentation on their work and its implications for security. The day also gave us time to soak in the vibrant energy of Barcelona. The last few days of the trip allowed everyone to unwind and also try exciting activities like hiking, coasteering, rock climbing, and horse riding. We also enjoyed some friendly competition with two favorite events: the Custodia Olympics and a lively cooking competition. In every way, the 2024 Custodia Summer Trip was a memorable and rewarding experience for all!
WINTER TRIP 2024 TO ATHENS
During the winter of 2024, from January 13th to 19th, a group of 36 Custodians embarked on an unforgettable week-long journey to the historic city of Athens, Greece. We kicked off the week with a city tour, visiting Athens' iconic landmarks, including the Acropolis. The week also featured insightful visits to the Hellenic Parliament and the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy, where we deepened our understanding of Greece’s role in European affairs. One of the highlights was a day trip to Aegina, a nearby island, where we enjoyed time to relax and soak in the beauty of this island. Throughout the week, we immersed ourselves in Greek culture, delicious food, and the wonderful company of fellow students, all set against the stunning backdrop of Athens.
SUMMER TRIP 2023 TO LAKE GARDA
During the summer of 2023, from the the 2nd till the 8th of June, we traveled to the sunny Lake Garda Italy! This was a very active but relaxing trip with lots of free time. We visited the city of Verona where we got a city tour by one of our travel committee members, Miguel. Here we also attended a presentation of ITSS Verona. We took the boat to Sermione, here we discovered the city and played handball on the beach. We visited Milan and saw all the highlights of the city. Next to that some of us went mountain biking, hiking in the mountains and/or supping! Besides that there was plenty of free time to visit other cities and to enjoy some delicious Italian food and drinks.
WINTER TRIP 2023 TO VIENNA
In the winter of 2023, we had a new journey to the fabulous city of Vienna. From the 13th until the 19th of January we traveled to Austria by night train. Here we did lots of activities! We had some very interesting visits to the United Nations & IAEA and the Fundamental Rights Agency. We also had a great tour through the city, visited Schloss Schonbrunn Palace and had a day trip to Bratislava. Besides that we also did some fun activities to get know each other better, like a dinner & games night and a pub crawl!
SUMMER TRIP 2022 TO BERLIN
This summer L.S.A. Custodia went on a small summer trip! From the 16th until the 21th of June 2022, we traveled to Berlin!
During these days we visited the Alexanderplatz tower, Checkpoint Charlie, Berlin bunker story, the holocaust memorial and we joined a security-related conference at the German Orient-Institute.
There was also a lot of free time where we could discover the rest of the city.
WINTER TRIP 2022 TO BUDAPEST
From the 30th of January until the 4th of February 2022, we travelled to Budapest for our winter trip!
During this trip we did a lot of interesting and educational activities, we visited the Nuclear bunker museum, the Parliament, Memento park and the National Hungarian museum. But we also had some fun and relaxing activities, like visiting the Bathhouse Szechenyi and walking around Margaret Island and the castle district.
Also, the cooking committee organized a nice lunch and the sports committee organized the tickets to ride game.
Besides this fun and interesting program, there was some free time to discover the city.
All in all a great trip!
WINTER TRIP 2020 TO KIEV
In the winter of 2020 we went on a Custodia Trip! From the 25th of January until the 29th of January, we travelled to Kiev.
During this trip we visited the impressive area of Chernobyl, we had a nice walking tour through the city, visited the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and the Dutch Embassy! We also had a very nice dinner at one of Kiev's secret restaurants.
Apart from this fun and interesting program there was time to discover the city and it's best restaurants.
